I’ve been writing articles and publishing podcasts online since 2008. I’ve also been featured on other sites a fair bit during that time. It’s been a fun ride filled with some memorable moments.
I created this collection to share some of those moments. They’re fun to look back on. I hope you enjoy them. More importantly, I hope you’re able to use them to help your online projects.

And lastly, an option that I think is pretty risky but is what a few people I know have done successfully in the past, is charge customers before the project is finished. If you promise delivery by a certain date you could take pre-orders for your project (potentially with an early-bird discount) and use that money as a resource to help you finish your project, or at least as motivation to get things done and done on time, or else you’re going to have a lot of very angry customers.
Podcasting is extremely fun and exciting, but there is one thing you must do before you start podcasting: Commit. You must internally commit to podcasting, as you must do with anything that is potentially beneficial but takes some time and effort to do. You have to say to yourself: “This is something I’m going to do, and this is something I’m going to keep doing.”
On August 2nd, 2010, Tyrone Shum challenged me to a Niche Site Duel. Although we’re both successful online, we’re not experts with niche sites. We’re using this challenge and making it public to help ourselves and all of you become familiar with how this process works. We’ll report as much as we can, including our successes and our failures. Below you’ll find a list of all of my updates from the very beginning. From keyword research through building the website and then reaching #1 in Google and now earning more than $3000.00 every month.
You can read all you want, but nothing will happen until you execute. That is why today, I’m cutting this post short. Instead of reading my content, I want you to do something instead – right now. Do something for your blog, business or life that will get you moving forward and help you reach your goals. All I ask is that you leave a comment of what you’re about to do (sort of like a pledge), and let’s see how much we can all get done today.
Once a month, I write a detailed report about my online earnings. I always begin by describing the things I did within the previous month that might have an impact on my income. Then, I breakdown the sources of my income to the cent and always finish with what I’ve learned.
Pat’s Most Enjoyed Podcasts
In this session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast, I talk about several things that I wish I knew about before starting my online business and working on my own. If I could go back in time and tell myself these things, I would have been much better off.
In this session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast, I invited Dane Maxwell from The Foundation to come onto the show and chat with us about his approach to building an online business, one that doesn’t include the need to become an expert in any particular niche (what?!), any money or start up funds (double what!?), or even any ideas! In fact, in the interview, Dane talks about how he never starts a business with an idea and how that can actually hold you back.
In this session of the Smart Passive Income Podcast, I’m happy to showcase 3 success stories from people who are making a living online and generating a passive income without having to teach others how to make money online.
In this session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast you’ll hear a revised (blog & podcast-friendly) version of my recent solo presentation at Blog World Expo in New York, which is all about how I manage to earn a significant income from affiliate marketing without using aggressive or forceful marketing tactics and hardly any pitch at all. In general, affiliate marketing has somewhat of a negative connotation, but my goal was to show that you can make a significant income from affiliate marketing while at the same time strengthen the relationship that you have with your audience and keep them coming back for more.
In this special session of The Smart Passive Income Podcast, I share a re-recording of the presentation I did at Blog World Expo in Los Angeles last week. I also include a YouTube video that has the slides that I had prepared as well, although if you’re going to listen to the audio you don’t need the slides in order to get the message I’m trying to share.

“Pat Flynn has an inspiring story that you must listen to if you are like many people around the world who recently lost their job and want to transition to making an income online from your own business.”
